Structural services
1st and 2nd fix
Over the years we have worked on many new build and refurbishment projects, throughout which we have built entire frames on site, replaced roofs, installed high-end wooden floors, and more.
So, what is 1st and 2nd fix?
1st fix is everything from a building’s foundation to the point the internal walls are plastered, which includes the building’s frame, roof, panelling, and floor.
Many carpenters only work with trusses, which are pre-built parts of the roof that are then installed. However, as advocates of bespoke, we provide hand-cut roof services, which can be much more space-efficient if you’re considering a loft conversion, for example.
2nd fix is everything beyond the plastering stage, including design elements like staircases and kitchen cabinets.
